The funds raised through ticket sales and raffle at the annual luncheon are applied to our many educational and community projects. “These projects include school gardening programs at KAOL preschool; downtown beautification in historic Kingman; horticulture therapy at local nursing homes; Arbor Day Education Program and Tree-Planting; restoration of the gardens at the historic Bonelli House and maintaining a vegetable plot at the DigIt Community Garden (the harvest is donated to the local food bank). Cerbat Garden Club is committed to our objectives of providing educational programs on gardening and flower design, promoting civic beautification, and conserving our natural resources.
Raffle prizes are solicited from area merchants and donated by club members.
The 2017 Annual Luncheon will be held on October 21st, at the St. John’s Methodist Church @ 10:00 a.m.
Home and Garden Expo
Participate in the Mohave County Home and Garden Expo. Club members provide demonstrations. This is one of our major fund raisers. We sell plants, seeds, and garden crafts. In 2016, we made a dozen tin men from cans as a recycling project and they were a hit at the Expo.
“There can be no other occupation like gardening in which, if you were to creep up behind someone at their work you would find them smiling” ~ Mirabel Osler
